London 2021 - by plane

The plan was to go with L.
But due to circumstances I went with S.
5 euro a flight. WOW!
And for 500 euro
troubles to get all the paperwork done. LOL!
Because of Remembrance Sunday we couldn't
find a location for the second day Covid-test.
A referral to Manchester (!!!)
didn't fit in the travel schedule.
So I decided for a selftest and asked the Club and P
to receive the tests by mail. THANKS!!!
All in all paperwork was a complete day of work.

My left foot still caused a limp.
But it didn't bother me.
We took the train,

the bus, and then had to walk a lot!

I was lucky to sit at the window,
with none beside me.

 

It was afternoon, looked like evening.

And then we were between the clouds.

The photos don't do justice
to the beauty outside.

 

Then the sun...
changing everything.
It was like flying above the endless white
of Alaska.

Even the plane coloured golden.

Did I spot some land??

England!!!!

We had to walk a terrible distance at Stansted.
I had my sunflower lanyard visible,
but no fast track or anything else.

The automatic passport system failed.
3 times.
" Ask assistance."
I did...
I think the guy was fed up working there.
He refused to help me.
The computer did the same.
When I spoke up for myself he pointed to a corner.
"Go there".
I think I was lucky to understand him.
Nice talk with a regular London-Europe traveler 
while waiting.

Finally we were admitted to the country.
Took the bus,
and were just in time for dinner at the club.
Couldn't even change my denim
into plain nice black trousers.

But it was great to be there with P.
and a friend.
Enjoyed seeing P again, 
and just being there.

Desserts:

The apartment hotel was plain,
but very OK.

When S casted a funny shadow
I took my last photo,
and fell asleep

....
